Who is it for?
For bilingual children who already understand simple everyday Russian and can answer basic questions, but still find it difficult to maintain a fluent conversation.
What skills do we develop?
Expand vocabulary, strengthen Russian grammar, and help children express themselves freely and confidently in a wide range of situations.
How the Program Works
Our Russian program for bilingual children is structured in three progressive stages. At each stage, children expand their vocabulary, learn to build more connected speech, develop reading comprehension, and gradually move on to more advanced topics.

Program Stages
At this stage, children learn Russian as a second native language. They become more confident expressing their thoughts in familiar everyday situations and are introduced to basic forms of polite communication. The program helps them move beyond short phrases, build longer sentences, and express emotions in Russian.

- Describe appearance, clothes, toys, and pets;
- Talk about the weather, seasons, nature, and holidays;
- Retell simple fairy tales;
- Form common diminutive and affectionate word forms;
- Learn the Russian alphabet and begin reading their first syllables and words in Russian;
- Read and explore the fairy tales “The Turnip,” “The Fox and the Hare,” and “Kolobok.”

At this stage, children become confident bilingual speakers. They learn to use Russian comfortably in most everyday and learning situations: understanding speech and texts on familiar topics, taking part in conversations, talking about events, expressing opinions, and discussing what they have read.

- Discuss professions, transport, shopping, visits to the doctor, and vacations;
- Talk about events in the past, present, and future;
- Describe their hobbies and daily routine;
- Retell short stories;
- Use the present, past, and future tenses correctly;
- Compare objects and describe their features;
- Ask and answer questions such as “where to?”, “where?”, “as whom?”, and “with whom?”, using the correct case forms;
- Read short texts, fairy tales, and simple stories in Russian.

This course helps bilingual children use Russian confidently in a wide range of everyday and learning situations. They learn to understand more complex texts and native speech, take part in conversations on different topics, express and support their opinions, discuss what they have read and heard, draw conclusions, and create clear spoken and written texts in Russian.

- Use more advanced structures with prepositions.
- Read short texts confidently, still using syllable-by-syllable reading when needed;
- Expand their vocabulary and improve reading comprehension.
