Who is it for?
For bilingual children growing up in Russian-speaking families abroad who already understand Russian and can manage simple conversations, but want to become more confident speaking, reading, and writing in Russian.
What skills do we develop?
Build a stronger vocabulary, form sentences with more confidence, progress from sounding out words to fluent reading, and learn to talk about themselves and the world around them.
How the Program Works
Our online Russian program for bilingual children is structured in four progressive stages. Step by step, children move from simple conversations and sounding out words to speaking more independently, reading fluently, and writing in Russian.

Program Stages
At this stage, children make the key transition from using individual words to speaking in full, connected sentences. The program develops spoken Russian naturally through engaging everyday topics, grammar practice, and plenty of opportunities to express ideas in complete sentences.
By the end of the course, children will be able to express themselves more clearly, use basic tenses, cases, and verbs of motion, and take part in everyday conversations in Russian.

- Use more complex grammar and build sentences with greater confidence;
- Use the main Russian cases, tenses, and verbs of motion correctly;
- Read short texts by syllables, understand what they have read, and answer questions;
- Communicate more confidently in Russian in everyday situations.

At this stage, children become more confident telling stories, retelling fairy tales, and describing the world around them in Russian. Over the course of the program, they significantly expand their vocabulary and learn to use more advanced grammar in everyday speech.

Your child will learn to:
- Describe a person’s appearance and talk about their family, home, and surroundings;
- Name animals, buildings, types of transport, countries, clothes, school supplies, and other everyday objects;
- Talk about holidays, vacations, travel, and favorite activities;
- Describe and compare objects, and explain what they like or dislike;
- Use ordinal numbers and talk about dates, events, and the order in which things happen;
- Talk about movement and travel, using Russian verbs of motion such as идти / ходить and ехать / ездить correctly;
- Understand how more complex Russian sentences are built and use new grammatical structures in speech;
- Read syllable by syllable with greater confidence and read the fairy tale “The Old Man and the Wolf.”

At this stage, children learn to write short, connected texts about events, retell more complex stories, and create short stories of their own. They also begin to understand common Russian idiomatic expressions.
They continue developing their grammar by learning new cases, reflexive verbs, and more verbs of motion. Reading becomes smoother and more fluent as children move beyond reading syllable by syllable. They also complete regular reading comprehension tasks and begin developing their writing skills in Russian.

They also complete regular reading comprehension tasks and begin developing their writing skills in Russian.

- Describe their home, room, belongings, clothes, school bag, and surroundings;
- Talk about professions, sports, animals, plants, cities, and travel;
- Build clear, connected stories about events independently;
- Retell stories and write short texts of their own;
- Understand and use common idiomatic expressions and recognize simple irony in speech;
- Describe people and objects using the correct word forms;
- Match nouns and adjectives correctly;
- Use Russian cases, possessive pronouns, different verb conjugations, and reflexive verbs with greater confidence.
- Answer questions about a text;
- Begin writing short texts in Russian.

At this stage, children begin using a wider range of vocabulary, synonyms, idiomatic expressions, and more varied sentence structures. They learn to retell more complex stories, create short stories of their own, and express their ideas in Russian with greater precision and confidence.

- Use synonyms, idiomatic expressions, and more varied vocabulary to make their speech richer and more expressive.

- Use the imperative mood;
- Learn how new words are formed in Russian.
- Progress to confident, fluent reading in Russian:
- Answer questions about the texts they read;
- Begin writing in cursive;
